There are two levels of need served in our comprehensive program:
GPS Class
Students placed in this class have been recommended for the Guided Personal Success Program based on needs for extra support to improve their success in school, and unlock their potential in order to prepare them for high school and beyond. Guided Personal Success class is a time when the students meet with the GPS teacher in a cooperative small-group environment to work on improving skills in areas such as assignment completion and prioritizing, goal setting, studying, test-taking, time management, organization, responsibility and academic success. The school counselor will also visit the group periodically to work on personal/social skills.
Navigation
(typically 1-4 students). Navigation students receive assistance with assignment completion and prioritizing, monitoring grades, goal setting, facilitating retakes and redos, problem solving, organization, and appropriate behavior. The GPS teacher communicates, and facilitates student communication with teachers and parents as needed.
